Pasta at Le Veranda

Le Veranda @ Blowfish Hotel

Le Veranda is one of my favourite Italian restaurants in lagos, I try to go as often as I can,

I went there last week and I had the 'Frutti de Mare' which is basically seafood spaghetti, it comes with mussels, calamari and prawns in a tomato based sauce and it's very very yummy! It's a huge portion as well and I'm never able to finish it, (always a bonus in my book)

I also like how accommodating the manager is, I'm not a fan of mussels and always substitute it for more prawns and they are always willing to oblige,

The wine list is a bit basic but on the whole I will definitely recommend going.

Has any one else tried Le Veranda? If so what did you have? Pls feel free to share and recommend! )

Best ofada in town.

Ofada eating,( as well as green stew) is a passion of mine.  Nothing is better than a relaxed afternoon with a plate of ofada rice and dodo or seeing ofada on the menu at a wedding. Oh the joys of life!!

After deciding i could not keep waiting and going to weddings to satisfy my ofada craving, my quest began to find the best, safest ,consistent and most comfortable place to buy ofada in lagos . I tried yellow chilli's obe dindin, tfc and some other places and then God sent terraculture. Not only do they make in my opinion the best ofada in town, they also have an extensive menu of  yummy Nigerian food, an art gallery and a library/ bookshop. What else can you ask for?!

If anyone has any better ofada spots I am more than willing to try!!

Hotel Dinning- No 5 Lounge & Bar - Ritz Dubai International Financial District

When I stay at hotels I usually just do breakfast and eat out, unless I already know or have heard great things about their food. So after a hard night of partying, my friend and I decided to have a really late lunch at the hotel. First of all we fell in love with the alfresco Lounge, the décor and lights were so beautiful and as always the service was excellent!!! We had the wagyu mini burger and chicken Sliders, which I have to say were amazing,  (second only to 45park lane- I will be writing about that soon!)  They had great fries too, which in my opinion is hard to find!
We also had cocktails and lemon and mint shisha which was amazing as well!! It gets really lively at night too.The Ritz Carlton DIFC is a great hotel, with excellent service and the no 5 lounge & bar is a place I will definitely be going back to!

Lemongrass Thai Resturant Dubai

Lemon grass Thai Restaurant Dubai

I had lunch at lemongrass restaurant on a rainy afternoon in dubai, the restaurant is simply furnished with a very zen, tranquil feel which I found very relaxing, it's one of those places that leaves you wanting to stay even after your meal.

For lunch we ordered the tom yom soup with seafood which came in a great big bowl with huge crab legs sticking out and all kinds of yummy seafood goodness! The soup  was light, aromatic and very tasty,we also had vegetable spring rolls which were equally as good.

For our main we ordered prawns with garlic and chilli, a duck red curry and chicken fried rice, all three dishes were simply fabulous and best part was how massive the portions were!(always a bonus when you get left overs to takeaway)

The restaurant did not serve alcohol, which was not a problem for me and I had the most delicious apple and mango smoothie, I actually had two glasses, it was that good and I will definitely try to recreate it at home.

I Have absolutely no complaints about this restaurant, the food was very good and the staff very friendly, I would have absolutely gone back to try some more dishes if I had more time and will definitely be back.

Review The Cavalli Club Experience!

Cavalli Club Dubai

One of the places I knew I absolutely wanted to go to when I got to Dubai was Roberto Cavalli's
'Cavalli Club' at the Fairmont hotel on Sheikh Zayed road, given that I am a fashion designer I had to, simply had to go and pay 'homage' to one of our 'leaders' lol and boy did it leave up to every expectation I had! The lounge/bar/ restaurant leaves you blown away from the minute you walk in, from the richly upholstered furniture in the signature leopard print that we have come to associate the Roberto Cavalli brand with, to the absolutely stunning swaroski chandeliers that resemble stunning works of art, even the bathroom with the individual touch up mirrors, with what i'm convinced were a million watt bulbs and loads of gorgeous ladies taking 'selfies' and mini photo shoots, of course best part of all was the runway that runs through the room and allows you unleash your inner model as you walk in and doubles as a mini dance floor in the later hours, the food tasted as beautiful as it looked, I had the Prawn stuffed Monk fish with shallots, sugar snap peas and THE most amazing Truffle mashed potatoes ever, paired with a nice bottle of Rose wine (I forget the name now) and of course as u do loads brandy and bottles of champagne after,
(Biols had pasta and guinea fowl sauce which of course I had to try and trust me it tasted as amazing as it sounds!)
The service was first class and our attendant barley left our table and was on hand to attend to our every
Need, the music was an awesome mix of mainly house, pop and a few hip hop tunes thrown in.
After dinner we danced till the early hours of the morning! We had such a good time that I didn't want it to end and the best part was definitely been there and able to enjoy the experience with friends and family, I will give the service and the food an 8 and a half out of 10 and the overall experience a 10, will definitely be back!

Ps we went on a Saturday night which is one of their busy nights and I would definitely recommend booking a table.

Dinner at Bab Al Yam

When in Dubai have dinner at the Burj Al Arab right? So we decided to try out the Bab Al Yam intercontinental Buffet. While it was far from the best food or most memorable, I have ever tasted in my life, it was definitely up to acceptable standard. The service, as fantastic as it is everywhere in Dubai, was even more superb than we had come to expect, as we wanted to sit outside and it was a bit chilly,we were even brought pashminas by the waitress, without asking!! Attention to detail is always key- at least to me. As a lover of good wine, I have to say that wine list was amazing and that can make or break the meal. Having said all this the best part of the meal was the amazing view and poolside café that offers shisha too. Will I go back? Definitely, but maybe not for the buffet.
